2010 Pinewood Derby Update

Leaders and Parents of Pack 353,

We are less than a month away from the 2010 Pinewood Derby Race for our Pack. If you have never attended a Pinewood Derby race, this event is one of the highlights of the year for our Scouts. For a truly successful 2010 Pinewood Derby, the boys will need parent volunteers from each Den, in addition to the Den Leader, that can work during the Derby. Please contact your Den Leader or myself to arrange to help out.

We will be setting up Friday night January 29th and run the race on the 30th. The race will start at 0800 (8am) and will be run until 1pm on the 30th. I would expect the racing to conclude prior to 1300 (1pm) with awards and cleanup to follow.

Remind your scouts to work on their cars and have them weighed (no more than 5 oz.). The cars can be worked on/built in the den meetings. Remember to check on your activities/advancements to see if the car building can be applied to advancements.
